At The Pincus Center, we provide compassionate and trauma-informed care for however you have been affected by domestic violence. Our therapy services are designed to support survivors in processing their experiences, rebuilding their self-worth, and creating a path toward healing and safety.
Domestic violence can take many forms, and it’s important to recognize that abuse is not always physical. Forms of domestic violence include:
- Physical Abuse: hitting, pushing, restraining, throwing things, or action that causes physical harm or the threat of physical harm
- Emotional Abuse: manipulation, gaslighting, isolation, and control over emotions
- Psychological Abuse: intimidation, threats, and behaviors that cause fear and undermine self-confidence
- Verbal Abuse: name-calling, threats, demeaning comments, lecturing, and shouting
- Financial Abuse: restricting access to money, controlling financial decisions, or preventing employment
- Sexual Abuse: any non-consensual sexual activity, coercion, or unwanted advances
