SUMMARY:Loving in Transition Support Group
DESCRIPTION:The political and social climate in the United States is growing ever more hostile to transgender\, non-binary\, and gender non-conforming people. If you have a family member\, romantic partner\, or friend who is in or has gone through gender transition\, it can be difficult knowing how to support your loved one and yourself. \nDebo Katz\, LGSW\, LMSW\, (they/them)\, therapist at The Pincus Center\, has created an online support group for those with loved ones currently in the process of gender transition or who have already transitioned. Gain community throughout your struggles\, celebrate wins together\, and get professional guidance through tough times. \nAlthough the group will be virtual\, participants must reside in Virginia\, DC\, or Maryland. The start date is February 3 2026 and it will run every Tuesday for eight weeks. Attendance for all eight sessions is not mandatory. Sliding scale tiers are available for $50\, $75\, or $100 per session. \nPlease fill out this form expressing interest or send an email to dkatz@tamarapincus.com.\n  \nAbout your facilitator \nDebo Katz\, LGSW\, LMSW (they/them) is a queer-identified\, trauma-informed\, and person-centered therapist who works with clients of various identities\, kinks\, and relationship styles to help build skills to support curious self-reflection and empowerment. They specialize in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community\, but all are welcome who are navigating issues of sex and relationships\, life transitions\, gender expansion\, intersecting identities\, trauma\, substance use\, fat stigma\, depression\, and anxiety. In addition to being a therapist and connecting with other humans\, they enjoy being with nature\, food\, pets\, and creating sounds. \nThe Pincus Center for Inclusive Treatment and Education specializes in working with queer\, transgender/nonbinary\, kinky\, and ethically non-monogamous/polyamorous people. We value sex positivity (including asexuality)\, body positivity and fat liberation\, and racial justice.
